Q: What is your role at Milburn?
A: I’m a foreman, and I’ve been with Milburn since June 2017. Our number one responsibility is safety. Every day, I need to make sure all of our guys are safe and that they’re in the right position to succeed.
Q: What were you up to in your career before joining Milburn?
A: I did two years of college, and I was just working part-time jobs while I was in school. After those two years, I found out school wasn’t for me. I was kind of stuck, and I didn’t really know what I was doing.
My dad owns an independent residential construction company, so after I left school, I went to work with him. We built decks, kitchens, bathrooms, and other remodeling projects. I did that for a couple of years, and then I got the opportunity to work with Milburn.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job? Do you prefer it to working in residential construction?
A: What I love about working for Milburn is that it’s the complete opposite of what I’d done previously. Instead of building things up, I’m tearing stuff down. Every job is unique in demolition. Everything is different every time. I love the challenge, and I love the guys I work with.
Q: Why do you think Milburn is such a great place to work? What sets them apart from the competition?
A: They care. It’s that simple. They care from the top down. Safety is a priority for everyone, and these guys all love to challenge themselves. We take on projects that our competitors shy away from. We love being ambitious and taking those big complicated jobs.
Q: What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
A: I’m single, and I live in the city. My life revolves around sports. I try to play sports as much as I can, and I love watching them too. I’m a big football and basketball fan. Other than that, I like listening to music and hanging out with friends and family.
